Using common sense
Isa 35:8, “And an
highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called the way of holiness;
the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring
men, though fools, shall not err therein.”
During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the director
what the criterion was which defined whether or not a patient should be
institutionalized. "Well," said the director, "we fill up a
bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask
him or her to empty the bathtub." "Oh, I understand," said the
visitor. "A normal person would use the bucket because it’s bigger than
the spoon or the teacup." "No." said the Director, "A normal
person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?"
Abraham Lincoln said, “When you have got an elephant by the hind
legs and he is trying to run away it’s best to let him go.”
Do we use common sense when it come to the Word of God? There
are those out there that just don’t use common sense when it comes to preaching
the Word of God. They try to make the scriptures say what it doesn’t say.
It is a thousand times better to have common sense without education

If we use
common sense to apply the Word of God, our lives would not be so confusing.
James 3:13 “Who is wise and understanding among
you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in meekness of
wisdom.”
Use common
sense when it comes to spiritual things.
