Giving God The Glory

Psalm 115

The Coronavirus is running wild in our country and people are very fearful. But to those who serve God, He is faithful to give help.

Matthew Henry says, “Some think this Psalm was penned upon occasion of some great distress and trouble that the church of God was in, when the enemies were in insolent and threatening, in which case the church does not so much pour out her complaint to God as place her confidence in God, and triumph in doing so; and with such a holy triumph we ought to sing this psalm.

This Psalm tells us that God is worthy of glory. He is worthy of our praise because of His
love and faithfulness.  We don’t have to ask the question, “Where is our God?”  We know that He is in heaven and He does whatever He desires.”

The more we read this Psalm, the more it tells us about God’s love and faithfulness in our life.

The world serves idols that have no life and that are crafted by man, supported by Satan.
These idols have mouths that cannot speak. They have eyes that cannot see. They have ears that cannot hear. This chapter tells how useless these idols are.  We have a living God who cares for us!  Three times this chapter tells us, “He is our helper (Holy Spirit) and shield (faith)!”
It goes on to say, “He remembers and blesses us!”

No wonder the scripture says, ”Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but to your name give glory.”  But we will bless the Lord from now to eternity. Hallelujah!

No matter what, give God the glory!
